Promoting Your Cause Event

  • Aug 7, 2019

From marathons that benefit hospitals and cycling classes that raise funds for non-profits in the physical fitness sector to fairs that educate people on wellness and conferences that build up awareness for certain health conditions, there are so many types of cause events out there.

No matter what your brand does or what event you are planning, these are the go-to tips for promoting it:

1. Plan It Out - Before you can begin inviting people to your event, you must make sure your entire plan is in place. This includes tasks such as picking a date, securing a space, hiring help and ordering swag. promotional clothing items

2. Spread The Word - Once the who, what, when, where, why and how is in order, you can tell anyone and everyone about this occurrence by:

a. Writing a press release with the details that guests will need to know if they want to attend.

b. Posting it online in spots such as Facebook, Twitter, your website and local event pages.

c. Running an ad in a print publication that targets your main audience and/or via social media, in order to reach even more people.

d. Handing out informational fliers in busy areas of town.

e. Sending personalized invites that guests won’t be able to turn down.

f. Hosting a giveaway of a big item like a fitness tracker/watch or a gym bag.

g. Teasing the promotional products as a way to get the public excited about freebies they can get at your event. Suggestions include water bottles, T-shirts, stress balls and pedometers.   branded gift

3. One Last Check - One week before the event and one day before the event, double-check all the details, in order to make sure it will be executed as flawlessly as possible. You also need to do one final push for attendance, so see which of the above steps worked best and repeat them.

4. Make It Fun - When the big day finally rolls around, make sure it is a memorable time for all. Your main goal may be to raise money, spread awareness or educate people, and no matter what, guests need to walk away talking about what a fun and successful time it was. This will lead to more money, awareness and education and will help in making your next event even more popular!

5. Wrap It Up - Afterwards, be sure to follow up where necessary; the promotional push may be over, but your cause still needs to be on people’s minds. Send thank you cards, write a recap for your website to share on social media, announce the success of the event, and start planning the next one.
