Time to Run a Short Term Holiday Wellness Program: No Gain, Weight Maintenance Incentive

  • Nov 22, 2011

Austin, Texas: We all know that it is easier to maintain than to lose weight, so now would be the ideal time to motivate your employees to aim for maintenance during the upcoming Holiday season

If you are presently running a wellness program, this short-term program can be run ass an add-on or a separate contest. If you are still designing, discussing or contemplating your corporate wellness incentive program, here is a quick way to jump in.

Run a six-week campaign, with weigh-ins at the beginning at at the end of the program. Give rewards to everyone that has maintained their weight for these six weeks. Bonus points can be given for every pound lost, in addition.

This program will encourage your employees to think twice before eating or imbibing. One less dessert here, one fewer drink there, smaller portions– and before you know it, your employees will be more cognizant of what they consume throughout the holidays.

Who is with me on this?

I’d love to hear from anyone who is running or planning a short-term weight maintenance program to hear how you are implementing it – and the results you have seen from prior campaigns.

Here’s to a healthier and fitter workforce!
